water mint as the name suggest is a aquatic member of the mint family it can grow in the margins aswell as in deep water it is a very versatile native plant. The flowers are purple and highly attractive to bees and other pollinators it flowers from mid summer ,the plant spreds via under ground / water rhyzomes and is fairly fast growing and makes an excellent addition to a wildlife pond.
