The common monkey flower or musk flower ( mimulus guttatus ) is a not native but widely naturalised in the uk it was introduced from North america In the victoriana era as a garden plant ,  growing on damp ground and the margins of rivers ,streams and ponds , The flowers are quite large  and are yellow with red blotches and highly attractive to bees and other pollinators it flowers from mid summer.
