The rudd is a common native freshwater fish found in ponds, lakes, rivers, and canals across the UK. It is a medium-sized fish found in large shoals, they can reach a max size of around 45 cm and weigh over 4 lb however 20 to 30 cm is more common, rudd are typically silver/ gold in colour with reddish fins. Rudd can tolerate a range of water conditions and are, making them well-suited to still and slow-moving waters.
Best kept in shoals of 5 or more

Aswell as live and frozen foods like

Earthworms are also a good source, 
Roach will also eat small aquatic invertebrates like water louse, smaller pond snails and any flies or other bugs that fall on the water surface, they will sometimes consume plant matter.
