dwarf water lettuce  is a small floating plant native to most water ways in tropical to sub tropical regions ,it can survive in outdoor ponds during the warmer months but will die back in winter , it provides excellent surface cover for breeding fish or a platform for amphibians to rest on ,the plants underwater roots are also excellent at absorbing waste.
